I Tried Waking Up At 5am For a Week and This Is What Happened

Waking up at 5 – 6 am is not something that comes to us women naturally, especially because we need our beauty sleep, but it is actually extremely beneficial and has proven to be quite the opposite of what I thought it would be.

Are you a heavy sleeper? Do you prefer to lie in bed until 10 AM before starting your day? I have been there and I know how nice it is to feel the sheet rub against my skin whilst dreaming about pink champagne and cute animals.

I Tried Waking Up at 5-AM For a Week and This Is What Happened

I decided to change my routine for a week to see if it had any impact on my day. In the beginning, I felt that it was hard because I was not used to the early wakeup call and I prefered sleeping for longer. But as determined as I am, I took the challenge and started the new routine.

Day 1

The first day was difficult, this because I was not used to it. I felt tired, unmotivated and cranky. Even my first cup of coffee didn’t help much. (Oh well, I didn’t expect it to be easy)

I managed to get through the day and went to bed at 10 PM because I knew that was the only way I would be able to continue with the challenge.

Day 2

On the second day, it got a bit easier. I woke up when the alarm ringed and I took a nice cold shower. Yes, I like to have cold showers in the morning, who doesn`t? Before starting my day I decided to eat a good and healthy breakfast (I used to skip breakfast), and I found out that it made a huge difference to my energy levels and appetite.

I don`t know about you but I am not usually a breakfast kind of person, but after trying this new routine I was craving breakfast.

As usually I went to bed early and had a good night sleep.

Day 3

On the third day, I started to notice a massive change in both my mood and motivation. For some reason, I felt more energized, awake and even happier. Could this be because of the change in my routine? Does waking up at 5-6 AM in the morning make life better?

I was gobsmacked, to say the least. It has definitely had an impact on my morning, motivation for work and social life. I never thought it would be so beneficial, even on day 3.

Day 4

The fourth day was a game-changer. I woke up early as anticipated and felt ready to take on the day! I managed to get my work done earlier than I would if I woke up at 10-11 am or even later and I felt more motivated to find more deals and clients.

I made more money because I decided to work earlier and reach people before their lunch break. Waking up early does not only help you feel motivated and inspired but it also gives you the opportunity to close sales, deals and clientships before the rest of the world wakes up.

Day 5

On day five I could clearly see the differences to my income, social life and health. It made me feel hungry for success and I had already signed two new contracts for the next few months.

Waking up early was definitely the key to my energy, motivation and life in general. It also made me appreciate life more and it got me to realise how many hours it`s possible to waste on “unimportant” things. We love to read gossip and we can spend hours watching a Netflix series. (Guilty as charged, I used to binge-watch Gossip Girl)

Day 6

Six days in and I was no longer interested in sleeping in. I wanted to get on with my day, even though most of my friends and family weren’t even awake yet. I managed to get my work done before 12 AM and I had more time to spend on my projects, like for example Entrepreneur Women Daily.

Waking up at 5 AM may sound like a horror movie for some, but it has actually improved my life and I feel like I have more energy and motivation to reach my everyday goals.

Day 7

After a week I was convinced and I even felt impressed. Before starting the new morning routine I thought it would be an impossible task and I was even prepared to quit halfway through the week.

I managed to wake up 5 AM every day for a whole week and I have decided to continue with the routine. Why you might ask?

  • Gives you more hours and it will make you feel like you can accomplish more
  • Boosts your income and wealth
  • Gives you more energy to get going
  • Makes you feel more motivated and inspired
  • Takes your business to the next level
  • Improves your productivity levels

Waking up early made me more awake and I came to the realisation that we only have 24 hours each day. How would you like to spend those hours? You can always get more money, but the hours we get every day are actually very expensive and they will determine our lifespan and success rate.
